Common questions

Before your first shift

How do signups work?

New opportunities are added daily on a 60-day rolling basis. Browse the calendar, pick a shift, and sign up online. If a date shows no shifts, all spots are full for that date. Scroll forward for more.

Do I need a long-term commitment?

No. Spur volunteering is episodic by design. Sign up for a single shift whenever it fits your life. There’s no recurring obligation.

Do I need experience or to bring anything?

Almost never. Most programs provide everything you need and a team leader to show you the ropes. Any exceptions are noted on the program page.
