Spur Program

Food Repurposing Project

Wash, chop, peel, slice, and dice fresh produce for prepared meals for neighbors facing food insecurity.

What You’ll Be Doing

Join Spur at Root to help transform fresh produce and weekly food donations into prepared meals for local organizations serving neighbors facing food insecurity. Working alongside a Root alumni leader, volunteers will assist with kitchen tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, traying, scooping, and portioning food. No experience is needed, but volunteers must be at least 16 years old, or 15 with a chaperone, and able to stand for the entire shift.
